Name that Game 2 - Part 1 (COMPLETED)

Postby PrimaryMan » Sun Apr 12, 2009 10:20 am

I've been clearing cupboards this weekend and came across a box with all my old game boxes in it. Boy there's alot. Anyway with no plans for the weekend I've taken this opportunity to create a quiz for anyone else who is taking things easy and looking for something to pass the time.

The following posts have a small portion of the box art front cover. All you have to do is tell me the "Name of the Game" and the publisher.

To narrow the field down I've only included FLIGHT SIMS from my collection, 30 of them!!

Let the quiz begin.

box 15 = Tornado by Digital Integration...I think

.....I actually was given this game for free by someone when my family was gifted its first computer. I wasn't into simulation games then and I didn't have a joystick so never played it. Probably buried still at my parents house somewhere. I liked reading the manual though and looking at the maps.

Yep correct.

Tornado is my vote for best sim ever!. I loved this game, there is stuff in this game that has never been bettered. It had the best kick ass plane, front seat back seat, dynamic campaign, fantastic mission planner. Played it to death.

Please , Please, would someone remake this beauty.

Will have to try and dig it up. Was hoping one of the DCS modules would be the tornado or F-15e. Alas it seems not so.

Not sure how I will get it to run though, I don't even have a floppy drive anymore.

Check out this website. It has a version of Tornado to download.

http://www.stamford.edu.my/socsscm/tree/tornado.html

Apparently you can run it in a DOS emulator.

I might have a go at getting it running one day to see if my fond memories are more a case of "Rose tinted glasses"
